The switches range from very small cylindrical models for OEM use, to larger, enclosed units for more rugged industrial use. A majority of the line features microswitch technology. However, most economically priced OEM units utilize direct metal blade contacts in lieu of a microswitch. The switches have a piston/diaphragm design, which incorporate the high proof pressure of piston technology with the sensitivity and accuracy of diaphragm design.

All Gems pressure switches feature zinc-plated steel fittings for OEM use, plus a host of other material such as 316SS, brass, etc. The Gems pressure switches also feature a variety of diaphragm materials for media compatibility. The standard diaphragm is a Buna-N, however, other materials are available.

Enclosures for general OEM use, washdown (Nema 4), Nema 4x and submersible applications are available. Choice of electrical connections from conduit, DIN, lead wires, connectors, spade terminals, to screw terminals exist to enable the user to wire with minimal effort. A wide choice of process port threads and materials are also available to match existing piping.

All switches are available with silver microswitch contacts, however, a variety of other contacts, such as gold alloy for low DC currents, are available. The units can be factory set to a wide range of set points. Many are field adjustable with a hidden hex head screw that ensures against unauthorized tampering.
