Protect expensive equipment by actuating alarms, indicators, or even shutting down a system when flow rate is improper. GEMS flow switches measure "true" liquid flow; they do not infer it, and so are unaffected by pressure fluctuation. A broad range of configurations are available for liquids and gases with switch actuation points preset at flow rates from 50 cc/min. to 100 GPM (378 l/m). They are shock- and vibration-resistant.

Four basic operating principles are used to suit different applications. Shuttle models for high flow rates; Piston types for low flow rates; Paddle for large line sizes; and RotorFlow® Switches and Sensors that encompass state-of-the-art electronics and positive visual indication.

Piston Type - Highly reliable and precision calibrated for liquids or gases. Fixed setpoints range from a low 50cc/min to 1.5 GPM (6 l/m); adjustable version feature setting of 0.5 to 20 GPM (2 to 76 l/m). Special capability versions offer viscosity compensation, and high pressure handling to 1,500 PSIG (103 bar). Brass or stainless steel bodies.

Examples:

FS-3 Series - Compact, inline, low flow units made of Noryl®. 1/4 inch male ports; 0.05 to 1.00 GPM (189 cc/m to 4 l/m) setpoints.
FS-150 Series - Feature straight flow path with low pressure drop. Made of hydrolytically stable polypropylene, with 1/2 inch (13 mm) port size; .05 to 5 GPM (189 cc/m to 19 l/m) setpoints.
FS-927 Series - Small design for tight instrumentation packages. Brass bodies, stainless steel internals. 1/4 inch ports; 0.10 to 1.50 setpoints (378 cc/m to 6 l/m).
FS-925/FS-926 Series - Precision calibrated switches for gases or liquids. 1/4 inch ports; 50cc to 1.5 GPM (6 l/m) setpoints.
FS-930 Series - Oil flow switch that compensates for viscosity change in fluids. Brass body, 1/4 inch (6 mm) ports; 0.1 to 1.0 GPM (378 cc/m to 4 l/m) setpoints.

HPF-920 Series - Inline brass switches for high pressures to 1500 PSIG. 1/2 inch (13 mm) male ports; 0.5 to 3.0 GPM (2 to 11 l/m) setpoints.

Shuttle Type - For monitoring water and oil in line sizes 1" through 3" (2.5 mm to 76 mm). Accurate with 1% repeatability and low pressure drop. Bronze or stainless steel housings. Fixed settings from 0.5 to 100 GPM (2 to 378 l/m); adjustable settings from 0.75 to 15 GPM (3 to 57 l/m).

FS-500 Series - Monitor flow with a variety of switch points and low pressure drop.
.25 to 5GPM, 3/4" ports, bodies of polypropylene.
FS-200 Series - General purpose, straight through flow path; bronze or stainless steel bodies. 1 to 3 inch (25 to 76 mm) ports; 0.5 to 100 GPM (2 to 378 l/m) setpoints. Adjustable versions setpoints range from 1.0 to 8.0 GPM (4 to 30 l/m).
FS-400 Series - General purpose, 90° flow path; bronze or stainless steel bodies. 3/4 inch (19 mm) ports; 0.75 to 10.0 GPM (2.8 to 38 l/m) setpoints. Adjustable versions setpoints range from 0.75 to 14.0 GPM (2.8 to 53 l/m).
FS-400P Series - Low cost, PVC unit designed for 3/4 inch (19 mm) or 1 inch (25 mm) plastic piping. 0.5 to 2.0 GPM (2 to 7.5 l/m) setpoints.

Paddle Type - Flow/No-Flow detection for pipe with
1 inch (25 mm) diameter and up. Paddles are
cut to length for desired actuation
setting from 1" to 5-1/2" (25 to 140 mm).
Cam action: paddle pivots to move out
of liquid pat with increasing flow
for low pressure drop.
