An ISO-9001 registered company and the "home of the Flo-Gage"
RCM Industries manufactures
flow meters for measuring the flow rate of liquids, gases, compressed
air and steam in closed pipes. We also make indicating flow switches and flow
transmitters for process indication and control. Meters feature a large easy
to read analog dial with 270 degree pointer movement.
Our meters are suited to a wide range of applications where affordability,
reliability and ruggedness are important considerations.
Advantages
- Provides flow rate indication similar to a rotameter in a much easier to
read and install design
- Available in pressures to 400 psig and temperatures to 350o
F.
- Large easy-to-read 3.5" dial with 270o pointer
rotation.
- Black-on-white dial won't crack, craze or become difficult to read with
age
- Mount in any position - vertical, horizontal or in between
- Reads directly in engineering units - no conversions required
- Readings repeatable to +/- 1% F.S.
- Measures gases, liquids, steam, oils, refrigerants and many others
- Measures both clear and opaque liquids
- Sturdy all metal in-line construction resists piping stresses and strains
without breaking
- Liquid flow ranges from 4 GPH (1/2" meter) to 3,000 GPM (8" meter)
- Metric liquid flow ranges from 15 l/h (1/2" meter) to 12,000 l/m (8"
meter)
- Gas flow ranges from 40 SCFH (1/2" meter) to 20,000 SCFM (8" meter)
- Metric gas flow ranges from 1 Nm3/h (1/2" meter) to 600 Nm3/m (8"
meter)
- Measures 6:1 flow range with 3% F.S. accuracy
- Can be fitted with optional transmitters or limit switches
Applications
The Flo-Gage has been developed
for industrial applications where durability and reliability are important considerations
in the monitoring of flow. The Flo-Gage has accuracy
for most industrial processes and is particularly suited for applications where
compactness, low cost, minimal maintenance and resistance to accidental damage
are important factors.
Typical applications include
cooling water, lube oil monitoring,
cutting oil monitoring,
blending processes, reverse osmosis systems, welding gas and
compressed air measurement.
Operating Principle
All of our meters operate on the differential pressure principle. The flowing
fluid travels through a proprietary orifice, creating a pressure difference
between the pressure at the meter inlet and the pressure in the orifice. This
difference is detected by a pair of miniature bellows and converted into a pointer
movement indicating flow rate.
This measuring method provides many advantages. Readings are made directly
on the dial in engineering units with no conversions needed. No flow passes
through the bellows or through small orifices making the meter less susceptible
to plugging and sticking than rotameters and most other mechanical meters and
flow switches.
